NOMINATION FORM FOR THE ELECTION OF TWO CO-OPTED CAPE TOWN TOURISM (CTT) BOARD MEMBERS WHO WILL SERVE ON THE BOARD FOR TWO AGMS.
A. ALL NOMINEES NEED TO MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
1. Must operate in the tourism or hospitality sectors.
2. Must be the owner of a small to medium business (SMME)
3. Must have an accredited qualification or minimum of ten years’ experience in at least one of the following skill sets:
a) Information Technology
b) eCommerce
c) Tourist Guiding, Aviation
d) Business size must be micro or small
4. Extensive experience in any of the following key sectors is advantageous (not mandatory):
a) Accounting
b) Legal
c) PR
d) Marketing
e) DMC, Tour Operations, Attractions
5. You do not need to be a member of Cape Town Tourism to apply.
B. ALL NOMINEES SHOULD BE WILLING TO UNDERGO THE FOLLOWING PROCESSES BY ALLOWING CAPE TOWN TOURISM TO:
· Perform verification on their level of seniority within their organisation.
· Undergo reference and credit checks.
C. SUBMIT A MOTIVATION:
If you are nominating yourself, use the comment box below to motivate your active tourism involvement, tourism business experience and/or strategic marketing insight. Your submission must not exceed 300 words. If you are nominating another person, you will be requested to submit a motivation via e-mail not exceeding 300 words. We will then make contact with the individual if they are shortlisted.
D. DEADLINES FOR NOMINATIONS:
17h00 on Friday, 27 August 2021.
Once your nomination has been received and the requirements for nomination have been administered, the nominee will be requested to submit a 2 page resume outlining the Nominee’s current tourism involvement, tourism business experience and/or strategic marketing insight and to provide us with the email addresses of at least three contactable references not older than three years; or if you are giving a director reference, you would need to provide the contact details of your assistant or secretary.
E. YOU WOULD THEN ALSO NEED TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:
1) A short biography of yourself not exceeding 250 words. 2) Head and shoulder image of yourself in colour.
To assist potential nominees in deciding whether to stand for election, please download the Duties and Responsibilities of CTT Board in the Cape Town Tourism Constitution document that clarifies the following:
a) Confidentiality and non-disclosure undertaking, which must be signed by all Board Members once elected.
b) Criteria, duties and obligations of Board Members.
c) Code of conduct.
A copy of the Constitution is available on request from Cape Town Tourism Head Office, at any Cape Town Tourism Visitor Experience Centre or can be downloaded here.
Shortlisted nominees will be informed of their approval to stand for election. If you are elected as a Board member, you will be notified.
